This website was created by the owner to give a better sense of what the house feels like — what it’s actually like to live here.

For the key details, floor plans, and wide-angle, brightly lit photographs, please see the Fine & Country listing.
While being very comprehensive, they don’t necessarily convey the atmosphere, character, and pace of life in the house.

The house has a traditional layout with many separate rooms - each with their own use and decorative elements.

Open plan living, while popular for its sense of space and light, often comes at the cost of privacy, noise control, and functional separation.

In contrast, a traditional layout with multiple rooms allows each space to serve a distinct purpose—offering quiet for work or rest, containing kitchen smells, and enabling different activities to coexist without interference.

Defined rooms. Easy flow. Real privacy.

The heart of the home lies in its large sociable dining room. An Aga is the beating heart of a country home and this one is no different, bringing warmth and tradition.

The rustic charm of the dining room is complemented by Fired Earth floor tiles and an antique panel behind the Aga. Generous bi-fold doors lead out to the front garden and pergola with gas-fed fire pit.

The adjoining handcrafted wood kitchen is sympathetic to the home’s age, with quality fittings, slate floor and integrated appliances, granite worktops and Miele induction hob and cooker. The kitchen faces east and is bathed in early morning light.

A vaulted family room adds space and light, featuring an exposed brick chimney breast, woodburner, and antique French stained-glass bi-fold doors that lead to a striking L-shaped conservatory. With its vast glass roof and huge glass doors folding open to the garden, this is a space to be in all seasons—whether bathed in summer sun or watching winter skies.

Upstairs

Upstairs, the principal bedroom suite is a calm, elegant retreat, complete with a Victorian fireplace and its own en-suite shower room featuring a stained glass window and Fired Earth tiles.

The shower room flows seamlessly into bespoke dressing room (once a separate bedroom) which offers a spacious area for clothes and shoes .

There are three additional double bedrooms, each with its own character, including one with a striking vaulted ceiling and charming bay window that floods the room with natural morning light.

The family bathroom has a freestanding Victorian style bath with claw feet. The bathroom suite is from Chadder & Co. This toilet - and all others in the property - have original Victorian cisterns. Fired Earth terracotta tiles are laid on the floor and stained glass shutters at the windows.

The guest bathroom has a double walk in shower finished with stained glass windows and Fired Earth tiles. The free standing sink sits on top of a brass support and French shutters offer privacy. The room faces east and benefits from early morning light.
